Hi,

Can you provide more details on what you've done so far, and where you are
stuck?

There are tutorials in the MMS documentation that may also be
helpful: https://docs.mms.mongodb.com/.

Stephen

Hi Stephen, thanks for your reply.

I followed the steps from the link you provided.
1. register mms-polyview that seemed to work because when I now use that
name it exists
2. deployment locally on MAC
3. followed all the shell commands through copy - paste and execute.
4. final step verification came up with nothing
5. "Yikes a problem, try again in few minutes"

Nothing else seems to work.
Within MMS I get a screen with "succesfully registered", and the only thin
I can do their is register a new name which I finally did "mms-local" which
now also exists.

I think that I am missing somewhere a very basic step which appears to be
so fundamental that it is not in the documentation.

youre help would be appreciated.

regards,

Herry

Hi Herry,

Checking your deployment via https://mms.mongodb.com:

1) There's a notice that you're running an older version of the automation
agent (1.9.3.1109). You can update this to the latest version by either
clicking on the link in MMS or downloading via "Administration => Agents"
in the MMS navigation, but I think the step you are missing is #2.

2) It looks like you haven't created (or imported) any MongoDB deployments
yet. The automation agent logs in MMS (Administration => Agents) report
there is nothing to do: "All 0 Mongo processes are in goal state, No
monitoring agent specified, No backup agent specified".

If you want to create new deployment using the MMS Automation service, here
are instructions to deploy a standalone, replica set, or sharded cluster:
https://docs.mms.mongodb.com/tutorial/nav/management/

If you want to add an existing MongoDB deployment (i.e. you already have a
running MongoDB service that you want to manage/monitor) see:
https://docs.mms.mongodb.com/tutorial/nav/manage-hosts/

Stephen
